The club hosts its annual recital of young classically trained pianists (ages 18-30) who were this year’s recipients of the Musical Club's Evelyn Bonar Storrs Piano Scholarships.

Evelyn Bonar Storrs established this fund to support "talented and advanced students of piano." Each year, the Musical Club hosts a piano recital that showcases some of these stars of tomorrow who are enrolled in piano performance degree programs in Connecticut colleges and universities.

Performing for us today are several of the E B Storrs Scholars who were awarded scholarship money in April 2025, including  internationally acclaimed Carter Johnson. The student pianists awarded these scholarships are, as stipulated in the Will of Evelyn Bonar Storrs, “talented and advanced students of piano …”  most of whom are studying with piano faculty at Yale, The Hartt School, and the University of Connecticut.

Guests are admitted free of charge to this program, so consider bringing a friend – and stay after the program to enjoy a cup of coffee and to congratulate our scholars!
